Kemp Town

Kemp Town is the centre of Brighton’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) nightlife and most of the clubs and bars are in or around St James St and Marine Parade. The venues listed below are the stalwarts of the scene - pick up flyers and magazines to find out about new and one-off events.

The Marlborough pub is a mixed gay pub, popular with women. Stop by the ‘Marly’ to find out what’s going on: the bar on the right as you enter has a comprehensive collection of newspapers and flyers with all the latest events. Cooked food is available at reasonable prices. The small theatre upstairs is famous for stimulating, high quality productions, especially during Brighton Fringe month (see Festivals).
