Outdoors

Brighton has some of the best weather in the UK, though it can still be wet and windy, even in summer. The cold days may account for the city’s well-developed music and cultural scene, but when it’s sunny everyone heads for the beach!

Kayaks, wind-surfers, sail boats and diving gear are available for hire from the many schools and watersports specialists along the seafront. Alternatively, just lie back on the pebbles and enjoy a free ‘hot stones massage’, or hang out at the Marina for cocktails.

Take a trip to the South Downs for a country walk and pub lunch. The Downs offer splendid views and routes along the cliffs, or inland across the hills.
